Sound Bite(s), Episode 19: MLS looks like villain in U.S. Open Cup debacle
It's been a very busy week since our last show, so lots to catch up on. While it may not have been the biggest piece of news, I think the U.S. Open Cup situation ended up being the most interesting.
On Friday, MLS announced plans to send its reserve teams in place of the first teams and by Wednesday U.S. Soccer had foiled that plan. In the meantime, MLS lost the PR battle rather decisively.
There was also the SuperDraft, the 2024 schedule release and some interesting rumors to go over.
