The NWSL announced the league and broadcast schedule for the 2024 season on Thursday, which features a balanced schedule that will see each of the 14 teams in the league play each other twice. Seattle Reign will begin the season at home on Sunday, March 17, hosting the Washington Spirit at 3 PM PT. This marks the third year in a row that the Reign will open the season against the Spirit.
Seattle will host the Portland Thorns on Sunday, June 16, at 1 PM PT (the Mariners also host the Rangers that day at 1:10 PM PT). The Cascadia rivalry match will air on CBS. The Reign travel down to Portland to face the Thorns on the road on Saturday, May 11. That match will air on ION. Once again, the Reign are offering free tickets for this road match to season ticket members. A couple hundred Reign supporters attended the 2023 away match at Providence Park.
The Reign will finish the regular season on the road against the Orlando Pride on Saturday, Nov. 2.
NWSL matches will not be played during FIFA windows. In addition to the CBA-mandated league break from July 8 to 14, the NWSL will break from league play from July 15 to August 18 while the Paris 2024 Olympics are staged. The league will host a tournament that features all 14 NWSL teams and other international teams during this break, with further details to be announced at a later date.
Other schedule notes
Here are a few notes about Seattle Reign's 2024 schedule:
- This year, there will be no "unofficial doubleheader" games at Lumen Field – where the Reign and Sounders kick off on the same day but six or more hours apart. There are also no official doubleheaders this year.
- The Reign and Sounders play at home on back-to-back days nine times during the regular season: March 16/17, April 20/21, May 18/19, June 15/16, June 22/23, July 6/7, Sept. 15/16, Sept. 28/29, and Oct. 18/19.
- The Reign have three home matches in May. Here's a further breakdown of home games by month: March (1), April (1), May (3), June (2), July (1), August (1), September (2), October (2).
- Following their home opener, the Reign will have a three-game road trip – heading to face Chicago, San Diego, and Bay FC, with an international break also in that stretch. That's the only three-game road stand for the Reign.
- The Reign will host three matches on Friday evening.
- Eight home matches will take place on Sunday, with all but one of them kicking off in the afternoon instead of the evening.
- The two remaining home games will take place on Monday, September 16, and Wednesday, May 8. That's the only midweek match for the Reign all regular season.
Season Ticket Memberships are available for purchase now, in addition to Flex Plans. Details for single-match tickets will be announced soon.
