Ballard FC 2024 Home Schedule Announced
Ballard FC’s home schedule has been released. Among the schedule highlights, they will open their home season against USL2 newcomers Midlakes United on May 24 and West Seattle Junction FC on June 1. Single match tickets – including a new VIP pitchside option – are on sale now on the team’s website.
The 2024 season will be played at Seattle’s Memorial Stadium as Interbay undergoes an extensive renovation.
Coming off their USL2 National Championship, Ballard isn’t just defending their title; they’re also welcoming fans to be part of history at the Memorial Stadium before it is demolished and rebuilt ahead of the 2026 World Cup. This will be the last chance to experience competitive soccer in the classic stadium.
This is also the year that new local rivalries will get their origin stories. With the addition of three new teams from Washington, including West Seattle Junction FC, Midlakes United, and Tacoma Stars, new local derbies will emerge this season, and the competition between neighborhood teams will surely drive interest and connection to the club.
Season tickets are $99, which includes all eight home matches and priority rights for playoff games, alongside single-game tickets at $15 for general admission and a premium $40 field-level VIP option. Children five and under get free entry.
Details about Ballard’s U.S. Open Cup schedule and opponents have still not been released by U.S. Soccer, but ticketing information for that competition will be released as soon as it is available.
Camden Francis, Ballard FC’s Director of Operations and Impact, expects an engaging game-day experience, from new food and beverage selections to halftime shows and activities that cater to every family member. The team will run a round-trip shuttle service from Reuben's Brews Taproom in Ballard to Memorial Stadium before and after every match.
General Manager Sam Zisette told Sounder at Heart that they’re not just playing for another deep playoff run, but are also celebrating the spirit of Seattle soccer, engaging fans, and paying respects to the history that resides in Memorial Stadium. “I hope people will come to experience the stadium one last time.”
While the full roster is not yet available, the team has already announced the return of five players for their third season, a rare feat for a USL2 side, where roster turnover is a huge challenge. Peter Kingston, Leo Burney, Alex Mejia, Taketo Onodera, and Christian Engmann will all return, providing valuable consistency. Zisette has said that the goal is to retain 50% of players year on year and to carry a 30-player roster into the season. The club is holding tryouts on Saturday, February 17th to help round out their roster.
