With one month to go before the NWSL regular season begins, six Seattle Reign FC players will depart preseason training and represent their countries during February's FIFA international window.

As previously reported, Quinn and Jordyn Huitema will represent Canada in the inaugural Concacaf W Gold Cup, which begins on February 20 and concludes with the championship match on Sunday, March 10 – just one week before the NWSL regular season begins. Both players joined their national team this week to prepare. Eight teams from CONCACAF and four from CONMEBOL make up the field for the first iteration of this tournament.

Alana Cook was also called up to represent the United States in the tournament, but she was replaced by Becky Sauerbrunn earlier this week due to a "minor knee injury" suffered during preseason training with the Reign. That is presumably why Cook didn't feature in the Reign's match against the Costa Rica women's national team. The Reign have not yet provided further details on the extent of her injury.

The Reign's three Welsh players – Jess Fishlock, Angharad James, and Lily Woodham – were called up for a friendly against the Republic of Ireland at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin on Tuesday, February 27.

Defender Woodham joined Welsh teammate Fishlock and the Reign in Seattle for training earlier this week and will collect airline miles returning to Europe for the friendly with Wales. James, presumably still waiting for her visa clearance, is still in the UK and hasn't yet joined the Reign.

Ji So-yun, who has also yet to report to preseason training, will travel to Portugal for two friendlies with the Korean national team. They'll face the Czech Republic on February 24 and Portugal on February 27. Ji was tagged in several goodbye posts this week on Instagram, which hopefully indicates that she'll join the Reign after international duty.
