Seattle Reign begins a three-game road trip today at a place where it has been difficult for them to get results. They face off against the Chicago Red Stars at SeatGeek Stadium, where the Reign have a 3-8-2 record.
The match kicks off at 1 PM PT and will stream on NWSL+.
One reason for their struggles in Chicago? The weather. And today's match will be no exception. It has snowed the past two days, and temperatures will be in the low to mid-30s at kickoff.
What to Watch
- Transition: The Red Stars are dangerous in transition, which presents a new test for the Reign. How does the backline handle it?
- Clogged lanes: Chicago defends low and with numbers, which will make it hard for the Reign to find the passing lanes to their forwards. Building the attack might take time, but quick passing and good movement will be key.
- Grit: It's going to be a tough match. Chicago likes to battle and make it hard for their opponents. The Reign will need to demonstrate some grit to get through this one.
