The Sounders hosted Austin FC in their 2024 MLS home opener, and played to a 0-0 draw. Despite a dominant performance that saw the game primarily played in Austin’s half with the visitors registering just a single shot on target, Seattle only managed three of their own. What that number doesn’t account for are multiple near-goals: Léo Chú’s curler in the 24th, Josh Atencio’s dart from the top of the box in the 52nd, Jordan Morris’ snap header in the 72nd, and of course, two from Raúl Ruidíaz, the second of which dented the underside of the crossbar.
