The winning goal came from Kalani Kossa-Rienzi in the 88th minute, while Alex Roldan converted an equalizing penalty in the 67th minute. With the win, the Sounders improved to 25-1-3 in U.S. Open Cup games at Starfire Stadium, dating back to their USL days. The Sounders will next face Sacramento Republic in the quarterfinals on July 9-10.
