Tacoma Defiance drop third straight game

For the first time since joining MLS Next Pro in 2022, the Tacoma Defiance have a three-game losing streak after falling 2-1 to The Town FC on Wednesday. The Defiance have now dropped 5 of 6 games and are 2-6-1 in their past nine.

Against The Town, the Defiance gave up two first-half goals before pulling one back at 90+3’ on Tino Lopez’s first professional goal.

Kalani Kossa-Rienzi: Starting in his more natural defensive midfield spot, Kosa-Rienzi was very active. He was 71 for 82 passing, created one chance, nearly scored a long-range goal, made 10 passes into the final third and was 6 of 9 on duels.

Tino Lopez: Fresh off making his MLS debut, Lopez did solid work which included his first professional goal. He was 63 of 66 passing, made 13 passes into the final third and had five interceptions.
