The Seattle Sounders will host the U.S. Open Cup final if both they and Sporting KC win their semifinals. LAFC “won” the draw that was held on Saturday, with Indy Eleven finishing with the second-highest priority. The final is scheduled for Sept. 25.

If the Sounders host, it would be their third time. They previously hosted the Columbus Crew in 2010 and the Chicago Fire in 2011. Hosting Sporting KC would be especially fitting as it would give them a chance to avenge their only loss in an Open Cup final, falling on the road in the 2012 final.

To get there, the Sounders need to beat LAFC on Aug. 27 at Starfire. The Sounders are 5-0-0 in their previous trips to the Open Cup semis as a MLS team. They lost twice in the semis as a USL team in 2007 and 2008. Sporting KC hosts Indy in the other semifinal.
