Stuart Hawkins named to U20 Concacaf Championship roster

Stuart Hawkins has been named to the United States roster for the upcoming U20 Concacaf Championship. The centerback one of nine players who also represented the USA at the U17 World Cup last fall. This is the first time Hawkins has been called up to a U20 team.

The tournament will run from July 18-Aug. 4 in Celaya and Irapuato, Mexico. The United States will face Jamaica on July 19 (7:06 p.m. PT), Cuba on July 22 (7:06 p.m.) and Costa Rica on July 25 (7:06 p.m.). The top four finishers at the tournament will qualify for the 2025 U20 World Cup in Chile.

Hawkins, still just 17, already has nearly 40 professional appearances with nearly 3,700 professional minutes since first signing with Tacoma Defiance last year. Shortly after that, he signed a first-team contract with the Sounders. Although he has not yet made his MLS debut, he did start and play all 90 minutes for the Sounders in their first two U.S. Open Cup games this year.
