Five Sounders called up for international duty

Three players called into senior teams, while two are named to youth national teams.

The Seattle Sounders will have the upcoming international window off, but at least five players have been called into duty. Obed Vargas (Mexico), Nouhou (Cameroon) and Jon Bell (Jamaica) were all called into senior national teams, while Reed Baker-Whiting (USA U20s) and Stuart Hawkins (USA U19s) were called into youth national teams.

  • Nouhou’s Cameroon has a pair of Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya, on Oct. 11 and 14.
  • Bell’s Jamaica plays Concacaf Nations League matches at Nicaragua on Oct. 10 and host Honduras on Oct. 14.
  • Vargas’ Mexico will play a friendly against La Liga’s Valencia on Oct. 12 before hosting the United States on Oct. 15.
  • The U19s will play two matches in Spain against Sweden on Oct. 11 and Japan on Oct. 15.
  • The U20s will two matches in Chile against their U20s on Oct 12 and 15.

The Sounders next play the Portland Timbers in the regular-season finale on Oct. 19.
