Four Seattle Sounders have been called into international duty for the upcoming FIFA window. Nouhou (Cameroon), Obed Vargas (Mexico U20s), Reed Baker-Whiting (USA U20s) and Stuart Hawkins (USA U19s) were called from the first team, but all should be available when the Sounders face LAFC in the Western Conference semifinals on Nov. 23. Sounders Academy player Omar Hassan (USA U16s) and Tacoma Defiance forward Osaze DeRosario (Guayana) were also called up.
Nouhou will join Cameroon for a pair of Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. They’ll play Namibia on Wednesday and then Zimbabwe next Tuesday. Cameroon just needs one point from the two matches to advance to the next stage of qualification.
Mexico's U20s will play friendlies against Venezuela on Nov. 13 and Japan on Nov. 16. The United States U20s are in Spain until Nov. 19 and will play matches against Korea Republic and France while they’re there. The US U19s are in South Florida for a training camp that runs until Nov. 17. The US U16s are in Mexico until Nov. 19 and will play two matches against Mexico. Guyana is playing a pair of Gold Cup qualifiers against Barbados on Nov. 15 and Nov 19.
