At Seattle Reign FC’s end of season press conference, the club and midfielder Jess Fishlock announced agreement on new a one-year contract, keeping the Reign Original in Seattle through the 2025 season.

“I’ve always believed in this club and the environment we have established here,” said Fishlock in a team release. “Whether it’s winning three Shields, breaking attendance records or making historic runs, I know how much we value greatness at the Reign. I’m looking forward to creating more memories with this club and our community as we continue to rise to new levels in 2025.”

While her 2024 campaign was limited to just 18 appearances (17 starts) with her last match being back in September 9 at Angel City FC, when Fishlock was on the field, she was still often at her high standard of being one of the team's impact players.

More recently on the international stage for Wales, Fishlock scored the opening goal in a UEFA Women's Euro 2025 qualifying playoff match against Slovakia on October 29 to help her country advance to the second round, a home-and-home series against Republic of Ireland later this month.

Fishlock is second in the club's all-time appearance list with 224, behind Lauren Barnes' 259 all-time appearances. 198 of Fishlock’s appearances are in the NWSL regular season, putting her 4th all-time in league history. Having been in the league since the inaugural season of play, all of it with the Reign, it's no surprise that Fishlock ranks highly in the league’s all-time stats. She is one of five players in NWSL history to have 40+ goals and 25+ assists, along with Jessica McDonald, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, and Lynn Williams. Fishlock has scored 42 goals for the Reign, second all-time behind Rapinoe's 55.

Fishlock is a three-time NWSL Shield winner, 2022 The Women's Cup winner, a five-time NWSL Best XI awardee, and in 2021, received the NWSL's highest individual honor, the Most Valuable Player award for a season where she claimed 5 goals and 4 assists and was every bit of the impact player, leading the team to finishing second in the regular season standings and an NWSL Playoffs Semifinal.

For the many accolades and honors Fishlock has received for her efforts on the field as a Reign player and internationally representing Wales, without a doubt her highest honor came in 2018 when she was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of her services to women's football and the LGBT community.

“Jess Fishlock is a legendary player for our club, instrumental in establishing Seattle Reign FC’s presence both in the U.S. and worldwide,” said Seattle Reign FC General Manager Lesle Gallimore. “With a career spanning over two decades, we’re incredibly fortunate that she has chosen Seattle as her home for most of that time. Her leadership, football intelligence and competitive spirit make her invaluable to our team, and we’re thrilled that she will be extending her career here in 2025.”
