Sounders release 2025 preseason schedule

The Seattle Sounders will play four European opponents in Marbella, Spain before returning to the Pacific Northwest and closing out their preseason schedule with a match against Louisville City at Longacres on Feb. 12.

While the Sounders are in Spain they’ll face Hungary’s Pusás Akadémia on Thursday at 7 AM PT, Denmark’s Aalborg BK on Jan. 31 at 6 AM PT and then will split the squad to play Sweden’s IFK Norrkoping at 4 AM PT and Hammarby IF at 7 AM PT. Puskás is currently leading Hungary’s top division and Aalborg is 9th in the 12-team Superliga. The 2025 Allsvenskan has not yet begun, but Hammarby finished second in 2024, while Norrkoping was 11th in the 16-team league.

The final preseason game will be against Louisville City on Feb. 12 at 10:30 AM PT. The Sounders faced Louisville in the U.S. Open Cup last year, advancing in a shootout. Louisville went on to finish with the best record in the USL Championship only to fall in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Sounders’ first competitive match of the year will be against Guatemala’s Antigua in Concacaf Champions Cup on Feb. 19. The MLS regular-season opener is on Feb. 22 against Charlotte FC.

It is not yet clear if the preseason matches will be streamed anywhere.

Think I’ve identified everyone who is in this picture. If it’s everyone who traveled, there are 32 Sounders in Marbella. Wouldn’t say there are many surprises here.
