Tacoma Defiance officially sign Omar Hassan, Mo Shour
Two former Sounders Academy standouts — midfielder Omar Hassan and goalkeeper Mo Shour — have officially signed professional contracts and joined the Tacoma Defiance for the 2025 season.
Hassan, 15, played two matches for the Defiance last year, which included a goal against Minnesota United 2 in his debut. He became the youngest player to score a professional goal in Sounders history. He has also scored four goals on the international stage with the United States U15 team, three of those coming in an MVP-winning performance at the Vlatko Markovic tournament.
Shour, 17, is the youngest goalkeeper to ever enter the Sounders “pro pathway.” He made three appearances with Defiance last year and made one appearance for the United States U16 team in 2022.
