We’ve revamped our social-media offerings

If you’re following us on social media, you’ve probably noticed some changes. Now seems as good of a time as any to make those changes official.

Although we haven’t shuttered our X and Facebook accounts, we are no longer updating those. We’re currently assessing whether or not we’ll stay on Instagram, but have never been particularly active there, anyway.

Instead, we’ll be focusing our energy on three other platforms.

For most of our daily activity, you should check out our Bluesky account, which will behave in broadly similar ways as our Twitter account once did. The same goes for Ride of the Valkyries. Virtually all of our contributors have now adopted Bluesky as their default social-media accounts and we created a handy “starter pack” that links to all of them. Mastodon behaves similarly, albeit with a somewhat more complicated interface, but we’ve found some good community there as well.

Finally, we’ve been on YouTube for quite some time but we are now making more of a concerted effort to create video content regularly. For now, that’s mostly video versions of Nos Audietis where we are adding more shows with regularly featured guests like Niko Moreno and Matt Doyle. In the near future we plan to have other types of videos that will delve into tactics and other stories where visuals play an important part. In addition to the Sounder at Heart video channel, Lobbing Scorchers has also been posting video versions of their podcast, clips and even doing live shows on a regular basis.

We’re doing this mainly with the aim of better serving readers, listeners and viewers. We’d obviously love it if you also were a paid subscriber, but even just following us on these social channels helps support us in important ways as well. If there are other places you think we should be, don’t hesitate to reach out.
