Seattle Reign milestones to follow in 2025
The Seattle Reign season kicks off on Saturday, March 15, when the club hosts Gotham FC at Lumen Field. Fans can catch the match in person at 7 PM PT or on ION TV.
After a rough 2024, the Reign are looking to get back in the playoff hunt and compete for trophies. With new players and a dedicated local ownership group, the club is ready to prove their doubters wrong and jumpstart a new era for the Reign.
Here are 10 team or player milestones to track in the 2025 season.
34,130
More than 34,000 fans showed up to Lumen Field on October 6, 2023, when the Reign honored Megan Rapinoe ahead of her retirement at the end of the year. That initially became the NWSL single-match attendance record, which was broken last year when the Chicago Red Stars (now Chicago Stars) played at Wrigley Field. The 34,130 attendance still stands at the Reign's regular season standalone attendance record. Rapinoe's jersey retirement match in August of last year was attended by 16,598 fans, the second highest total for a Reign regular season home match.
19,795
Lauren Barnes is entering her 13th year in the NWSL, and she's played all of her minutes with the Reign. She has the NWSL record for minutes played (19,795) and should easily cross the 20,000 minutes threshold this year.
259
Barnes also has 259 club appearances across all NWSL competitions and has set league records for the most regular-season appearances (232) and starts (224). She'll look to make those records even more difficult to break, as the closest active player behind her is her teammate, Jess Fishlock.
198
Fishlock, another Reign original, enters the season with 198 NWSL regular season appearances. She's just two away from hitting the 200 mark. She has 224 appearances across all NWSL competitions. Sofia Huerta is close behind with 188 NWSL regular-season appearances. Barnes, Fishlock, and Huerta are in the top 10 in the league for all-time appearances and minutes.
103
Reign head coach Laura Harvey enters the season with 103 wins, an all-time NWSL record. How many wins will she add to the tally this season?
79
New Reign forward Lynn Biyendolo is the NWSL all-time leading goal scorer, with 79 goals across all competitions. She's scored 68 regular-season goals, which is second behind Sam Kerr.
48
Jordyn Huitema, still only 23 years old, has played in 48 regular-season NWSL matches with the Reign. Her 50-game milestone should come very early in the season!
31
Huerta, currently on loan to Olympique Lyonnais in France until June, is tied with Jess McDonald for the all-time assist record in the NWSL. Teammate Biyendolo is only one assist behind her with 30, while Fishlock has 28. All of Fishlock's assists came with the Reign.
14
The Reign have been building a squad that combines proven veterans with young talent that can make an impact now and in the future. Fourteen players on the Reign roster were born in 2000 or later.
9
The Reign have players who could represent at least nine national teams. Angharad James-Turner, Jess Fishlock, and Lily Woodham all represent Wales, Hanna Glas retired from the Sweden national team in 2024 after 59 caps. Ana-Maria Crnogorčević is Switzerland's all-time leading goal-scorer, while Ji So-yun has the most goals for South Korea and Fishlock for Wales. Huitema plays for Canada, and Nérilia Mondésir is Haiti's captain.
Reign actually has THREE … and possibly FOUR! Fishlock WAL Ji So-Yun KOR Crnogorcevic SUI And Mondesir may be Haiti's leading scorer now, will need to verify. Other leading NT scorers in NWSL at the moment: Marta BRA Rodriguez CRC Banda ZAM

Biyendolo and several other Reign players should feature for the U.S. women's national team, while Sam Meza could suit up for the U.S. or Mexico – just like her teammate Huerta did previously, and Sofia Cedeno has represented the U.S. at the youth levels and is also eligible for Panama.
