Defiance sign two SuperDraft picks, South Korean winger
One day before the start of their 2025 campaign, the Tacoma Defiance added three more players to their roster, bringing the total to 21.
The latest signings were South Korean midfielder Joonmo Kang and Sounders SuperDraft picks Ryan Baer and Demian Alvarez.
Kang, 23, played in the Korean second division last season with Ansan Greeners and had previously played professionally in Germany.
Baer was the Sounders’ top pick in the most recent SuperDraft, and even traveled with the first team to Spain for preseason. He was a standout defensive midfielder at West Virginia.
Alvarez was the Sounders’ second-round pick in the SuperDraft after a college career at Seattle University. The centerback also played three seasons at Ballard FC.
