Dustyn Richardson of Bayou City Soccer provided us this brief scouting report on tonight’s opponent:
One thing to know about the Dynamo
The Dynamo have struggled this season in scoring goals. They have just four in their first five matches and Ponce has just one. Erik Sviatchenko’s return should be a boost to the defense but Jimmy Maurer will make his first league start after the injury to Tarbell last week.
Key players to watch
Ezequiel Ponce is the main man up front as the Dynamo’s only current DP. He will need to find goals for the Dynamo to turn things around this season. Nico Lodeiro will likely start in his return to Seattle.
Recent form
No wins this season. All three losses were at home, with a draw in Columbus. The Dynamo did win a friendly on Wednesday against the El Salvador national team.
Notable absences
Andrew Tarbell is out with a torn ACL. Jack McGlynn and Brooklyn Raines are on international duty.
Projected lineup
(4-3-3) Maurer; Escobar, Sviatchenko, Bartlow, Dorsey; Artur, Duenas, Bassi; Lodeiro, Ponce, Kowalczyk
