The Sounders will visit the San Jose Earthquakes tomorrow. Phil Leyva of Quakes Epicenter provided this brief scouting report:
Notable injuries
Hernan Lopez is the most recent addition to the injury list. The central midfielder will be out 3-4 months with a shoulder injury.
Recent form
Three consecutive losses. They are Struggling in transition as well as scoring opportunities. Lots of shots, cannot find the net.
Key players to watch
Cristian Espinoza: playmaker, leader. Dangerous with his service from the right wing in the run of play. Daniel: excellent shot stopper. Typically hard to beat. Chicho Arango: uncharacteristically missed big chances vs Charlotte. Will be looking to rebound.
One thing to know about the Quakes
Considering the goal-scoring opportunities, the Quakes are way overdue for a multi-goal match.
Projected lineup
3-5-2: Daniel - Romney, Wilson, Rodrigues - Ricketts, Leroux, Harkes, Arango, Espinoza - Bouda, Judd
