Reign vs. Gotham: Gamethread

Seattle Reign kick off their 2025 NWSL season tonight at Lumen Field, welcoming Gotham FC at 7 PM PT. For those unable to attend in person, the match will be broadcast on ION TV in the United States and on NWSL+ internationally.

After facing off in the 2023 Championship, the teams went in very different directions in 2024, with the Reign struggling and finishing 13th out of 14 teams, while Gotham came in third and reached the NWSL playoff semifinals.

The Reign are 12-10-8 (6-7-4 at home) all-time against Gotham, scoring 43 goals and conceding 40. In 2024, the Reign drew Gotham 1-1 on the road and lost 2-0 at home.

Keys to the game

  • Create chances and finish them
  • Make Lumen Field a fortress again
  • Don't give Gotham space to play in behind
