LINEUPS: The Sounders made eight changes from midweek, with Danny Musovski getting his first start of the season. LAFC also rotated heavily, making eight changes from their midweek match against the Columbus Crew.
The Seattle Sounders’ last time facing LAFC was arguably the highlight of their 2024 season. Jordan Morris’ extra-time goal ended the Sounders’ 10-game winless run against LAFC and put them into the Western Conference finals.
Despite that breakthrough, the Sounders still haven’t beaten LAFC at home since 2021.
To snap that streak, the Sounders will need a strong performance from what is expected to be a rotated lineup from Wednesday’s 0-0 tie with Cruz Azul. LAFC will also be coming in on short rest, albeit with one extra day between games.
Notes
- Jordan Morris remains one goal shy of breaking the Sounders all-competitions scoring record. He is currently tied with Raúl Ruidíaz with 86 goals in his Sounders career.
- The Sounders will give their new “Salish Sea Kit” its home debut.
- LAFC come into this match having not allowed a goal in four straight games, including shutouts in their first two league games.
