Already short three starters due to injury, the Seattle Sounders will be missing two more when they host the Houston Dynamo on Saturday. Nouhou (Cameroon) and Obed Vargas (Mexico U20s) will both miss the game while on international duty. Both players should be back in time for the March 29 match against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Cameroon will be playing a pair of World Cup qualifiers against Eswatini (Wednesday) and Libya (March 25). Mexico’s U20s will play three matches in Spain against Spanish fifth-tier team CF Benidorm (Wednesday), followed by the United States U20s (March 22), and the France U20s (March 24).

The Dynamo, who have just one point through their first four matches, will also be missing three of players, but only Jack McGlynn (USA) is a regular contributor. Neither Brooklyn Raines (USA U20s) nor Sebastian Rodriguez (Mexico U18s) have played significant first-team minutes for them this year.

Although MLS has increasingly tried to avoid playing through international dates in recent years, everyone but Inter Miami and the New England Revolution will be playing this weekend.

Additionally, Tacoma Defiance players Snyder Brunell (United States U18s) and Osaze DeRosario (Guyana) have been called into international duty. As a result, neither will be available for Thursday’s U.S. Open Cup match against Washington Athletic Club.
