Shameless self-promotion: Lobbing Scorchers will be doing a live show tonight at Starfire prior to Tacoma Defiance's US Open Cup match against Oakland Roots. We've graciously been granted space at Starfire's Watershed FC Pizza and will be joined by Sounders Technical Director Henry Brauner.
If you're planning on going to the match, or looking for a reason to go, we'd love for any and all to stop by. We'll be happy to take questions and interact with our audience.
I'm looking forward to catching my first Defiance match of the year in person, and seeing how they fare against the challenge of USL Championship opposition. These matches are always an uphill battle for an MLS NEXT Pro side – going against grown men many of whom have been playing professional soccer for many years. But these are the types of the matches that make you better. It's also a chance to see some of the next generation of Seattle's academy products and future homegrown players.
Come hang out with us and watch the magic of the US Open Cup!
